I realize media doesn’t think it’s a big deal that Trump, Vance & Hegseth continue to give partisan political speeches to troops, evidenced by the fact that they are never asked about it nor are members of Congress, but it is one of the most dangerous things happening right now.

Please read this long but important thread from an immigration defense attorney.

If this administration is permitted to scale its current abuse, neglect, and inhumane treatment of immigrants to the breadth and scope for which they’re currently planning, we’ll all be witness to mass atrocities.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

These are the conditions under which the Trump regime wants to detain noncitizens indefinitely. It violates international law, the Eighth Amendment, and our own laws & regulations.

And the DOJ and DHS are willing to manipulate any law, defy any court order, to keep doing so.

Update: The federal indictment against Kyle Wagner confirms our reporting, that Wagner was arrested and charged with cyberstalking right-wing agitator Jayden Scott (who allegedly stalked a Minnesota reporter before this) and NOT federal agents. /
NEW: The Trump admin publicized the arrest of an "antifa domestic terrorist," implying he was charged with threatening federal agents. But the criminal complaint suggests Kyle Wagner was charged with Instagram beefing with controversial rightwing agitator Jayden Scott.

Note: I should have added "at worst" to the line about the fishermen. We don't know how many were actually even doing that.

Also, as with the brazen, wildly exaggerated lying, the hypocrisy is itself a projection of power. They want you to see that there's no pretense of justice or fairness.
I'm all for pardons and second chances. But it's a hell of a juxtaposition to pardon millionaire NFL players convicted of drug distribution while you're summarily executing impoverished fishermen making a few hundred bucks to shuttle drugs around the Caribbean.
