I've actually been here the whole time... just in a different way.

Behind the scenes, I've been helping others build their voice on this platform.

Refining how they show up, how they connect, how they stand out in all the noise and how they generate attention and grow.

It's been meaningful, creative, and honestly kind of addictive.

But somewhere along the way, I stopped showing up for myself.

Standing in front of the Colosseum brought something up for me.

This thing has lasted thousands of years, not because it shouted the loudest, but because it stood with presence and intention.

That hit me.

I don't need to post often or loudly, but when I do, it'll be deeply me.

So here I am.

If you're growing, you'll be hated.

Not because you're bad - but because you're visible.

Hate isn't a glitch. It's part of human nature + bad online incentives. Even here on Bluesky.

Once your words reach beyond your circle, you'll trigger someone's insecurity, boredom, or weirdness.

So the question isn't how to avoid hate - it's how to face it without becoming hard or hollow.

1. Understand what hate really is.

It's not feedback. It's projection.
Fear. Jealousy. Loneliness. Confusion.
People lash out at what makes them feel small or unsure.

When someone calls you fake, cringe, manipulative - pause.
Ask: What part of them is speaking?

Most of the time, it's not about you. It's their insecurity wearing your name.

2. Respond like people are watching. Because they are.

Don't reply to the hater - reply for the quiet readers.
They're watching to see if you'll spiral or stay grounded.

Kind, calm, clever replies win trust.

Examples:
• "Not everyone likes my approach - that's okay."
• "Thanks for the perspective."
• "You might be right. Or not. Still, appreciate the read."

Grace is power.

3. Don't perform for people who hate you.

Don't dilute your voice to avoid judgment.
Don't write for people who don't get it.
You're not here to be universally liked - you're here to be felt by your people.

4. Block freely.

It's not weakness. It's protecting your peace.
Let them yell into the void. You're building something.

5. Stay human.

Don't become what you're trying to resist.
Speak with warmth. Rest. Touch grass.
Even if your post is digital - you are real.

Let them talk. You're building a sky of your own.

Think "How are you doing?" is a good opener? It's not. That's why your DMs get ignored.

"How are you doing today?"

I get over 50 DMs like that every single day.

And no matter how well intentioned I am, there's just no way I can respond to all of them'especially when they feel like they were copied and pasted to a hundred other people.

Ironically, if I did try to respond to each one with the same answer, I'd probably get flagged for spam.

Here's the truth:
If you want to start a real conversation with someone new, please don't lead with "How are you doing today?"

It's generic. Forgettable. And 9 times out of 10, it'll get ignored.

Instead, do a little homework. Read their bio. Check their posts. Find something they clearly care about and ask a question that shows you actually noticed.

Let's say they're obsessed with cats and always posting pictures of their Maine Coon named Tom. A better DM might be:

"Tom is gorgeous! Be honest - how much do you spend on food for that big guy? I've been thinking about getting a Maine Coon too, but I'm worried I'll end up spending more on cat food than rent!"

Or maybe you've come across a total bookworm. Try something like:

"I saw you're big into reading. I'm planning a two month break from social this summer and want to get lost in some epic fantasy. Got any must reads? I'd love to hear your top recs!"

The key is simple:
Be genuinely interested in the person you're messaging.
Start with something real, something specific. Show you actually give a damn.

That's how you stand out from the 99% who send the same tired DMs every day.
That's how you spark actual conversation.

Don't be boring. Be curious.
You become interesting the moment you show interest in someone else. (Read that again.)

Here's how to write stories that connect.
Not in a fake, polished way, but in a way that makes people say:
"I feel this."

"I wish I wrote this."

Step 1: Share your stories.
We all live differently. Even if two people write about the same event, they'll write it so differently.
That's your power. Your point of view is the gift.

Step 2: Say it simply.
No fancy words.
No academic fluff.
Just write like you're talking to a close friend you trust.
That's when your real voice shines.

Step 3: Feel it.
The best stories don't describe events.
They immerse you in them.
Talk about the sounds, smells, the weird feeling in your chest.
Let us feel what you felt.

Step 4: Practice.
At first, it might suck.

And if you're scared?

They built a nest in the reeds.
I watched them raise tiny bundles of white,
year after year.
A quiet kind of love.

Then one spring, only one returned.

He floated near the bank for days.
Didn't eat.
Didn't leave.
Just... waited.

He still comes back.
Every year.
To the same patch of river.

And he always looks the same direction - toward the empty place in the reeds.

Sometimes, when the water's still,
I see their reflection side by side.
But I know it's just him.
And the ache of remembering.

People say animals don't feel what we feel.
But I think maybe we just forgot how to feel like they do - with our whole body.

You are just walking. Sun in your eyes. Sandals slipping on the hot stone. Capri buzzes around you. Shops, voices, colors. It is too much.

Small. Easy to miss.

You turn without thinking.

The noise fades.

The streets narrow.

Vines curl along the walls.

The smell of salt rides the air.

It feels like stepping out of the world.

You wonder if you are allowed here.

If maybe you should turn back.

You don't.

Something pulls you forward.

Some part of you that still believes in luck.

Still believes in beauty.

You pass through a small gate.

And there it is.

Terraces fall into the sea.

The cliffs rise like gods.

Flowers spill over stone.

The world is bigger than you remembered.

You don't take a photo.

You just stand there.

Breathing.

Alive.

You find a bench.

The stone is warm from the sun.

You're in Montepulciano, it's hot, and you've earned this.

You even do the "Which flavor is the most authentic?" routine like you care.

You don't. You want pistachio. Always pistachio.

The first gelato is... divine.

You eat it while pretending not to be in your own Hallmark movie.

Cobblestones. Sun. Bell tower.

That one old man on a bench who looks like he's been judging tourists since 1742.

Then you see another gelateria. Different vibe.

They've got fig and ricotta.

Fig and ricotta?? That feels artisanal. Possibly even spiritual.

You don't even realize it's happening until the fourth cone.
