Many New Yorkers are already struggling. Defunding legal services groups now means LSNYC won’t be able to keep up with the demand for our services, forcing many New Yorkers further into poverty, homelessness, and uncertainty about how to provide for themselves and their families. #LSCMatters

Over 21% of NYers 65+ live in poverty. Older adults are the hardest hit by rising prices. At a time when older NYers need LSNYC’s help accessing benefits & health care more than ever, Legal Services is at risk of being defunded.

Without federal funding, LSNYC would not be able to help NYers like M, an elementary school student with autism & cerebral palsy, who was denied support services by their school. LSNYC helped secure home instruction, 900 hours of one-to-one tutoring, an appropriate school placement & more.
