I finally beat my imposter syndrome around doing a PhD last week which I'm going to celebrate as a mini milestone.

In celebration, here is a blog I wrote, supported by the lovely FTWAIL Collective 🫶🏼

I would love your feedback if you have time to read it!

Is there an Arts + Law or Arts + Legal Education starter pack here?

Or any key sources or scholars anyone could recommend to read more into this type of research/pedagogy?

Thank you in advance 🥰🫶🏼

If a book had to fall on my face and almost kill me at 10 o'clock at night, I'm glad it was one about women's movements around the world ✊🏽😔

My first time joining @ruthhoughton.bsky.social & @aoifemod.bsky.social's Utopias Reading Group today 📚 Discussing @gautambhatia88.bsky.social's brilliant 'The Sentence' and thinking through questions of forgotten histories, law, and anarchy in the global order (& many other things). Such a treat!
Coming up in May, @aoifemod.bsky.social and I will introduce Series 4 of the Utopias Reading Group. Dates for diaries: 7th, 14th & 21st May. Get in touch if you want to be added to the mailing list.

We love having you as part of the group @legallyapeksha.bsky.social! It's great to be able to share so many different perspectives on the texts we read and from across multiple disciplines too.
Being the way that I am means that I find myself on multiple side quests and currently, that includes joining the #Feminist Utopia Reading Group convened by @ruthhoughton.bsky.social and @aoifemod.bsky.social

This week we discussed The Sentence by @gautambhatia88.bsky.social 🤓📚

#Adolescence is a good reminder that the radicalisation of young boys and men is something that requires collective efforts to address.

Whilst looking ahead at everything I have yet to learn, I am reminding myself to also look back at everything I have achieved.

An example of this is with writing. I'm always in my head about my writing but when I read old essays/drafts of articles I'm reminded of the creative genius I am 😅✨️

There are some really wonderful people in academia who teach young colleagues about the importance of setting boundaries and that you don't have to prove your worth by working yourself to death and I love those people from the bottom of my heart!! 🫶🏼🩷

The amazing @sandraduffy.bsky.social blog in The Morrigan

'if the slogan ‘trans rights are human rights’ is ever to be anything more than hollow words, society must start with the recognition of the real humanity of trans people ...'

Trans Rights and Threatened Citizenship - Doing Feminist Legal Work
I have been mulling on the phrase ‘trans rights are human rights.’ Of course they are; no-one at this blog would contend otherwise. We chant it at protests,

Men and women watching #Mrs are frustrated for different reasons.

Men are frustrated at the realistic portrayal of their misogynistic behaviours, which they otherwise considered to be normal. They're getting called out for the BS they put women through & they don't like it 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm always burnt out at this stage in the term but seeing my students all passionate and enthusiastic about women's rights today really lifted my spirits.

They created such kind and supportive spaces for their peers to share their experiences; I'm so proud of them 🥹❤️
