I don't think mayoral choice significantly impacts the voting of the populace outside of the state (or even possibly within it) but the tidal change that electing Mamdani hints at can propagate hope across the nation that there is interest in, and hope for, electing more Dems/Liberals/Progressives.

GOP is pushing for Dems to cave to their demands with a "promise" to discuss extending ACA tax benefits once the govt is open.
Maybe if they want that so badly they should do *something* to show some good faith in that regard. So far nothing they have done suggests they would honor that "promise".

JD Vance is disgusting... but I'm glad he feels empowered to say the stuff he does because it's all being captured by the internet for future use... especially since trump is now admitting the Constitution says he can't run for a third term... likely in light of his MRI/"Aptitude test" results.
