I guess I never introduced my animals here. First pic to last - Iris 10 year old ottb mare who I do eventing, hunters & fox hunting w/, Ivy 2.5ish? Rescue pony who I plan on jumping & doing western w/, Bentley 6 yr old English foxhound rescue, & Myra 5 yr old pit/rottie/boxer rescue.
I had the best lesson on Iris today. I tried a new bit & she softened so nicely and she went around so well. We were both exhausted at the end of it from using muscles we don't use often lol. I need to get used to riding western again

I rode iris western today! This woman at my barn helped me and we actually got her to relax and stretch down and go really nicely. Here's a couple pics of when she got on. I got to use my cute purple head stall too

It finally came 2 months later! I've always wanted one of these either the blue or the pink but never got one. They're actually really nice quality. Which of course because it's horseware but I'm so excited to use it tomorrow

Good news though, I was worried iris might have ulcers, but the vet said she highly doubts it after checking her pressure points

I'm surprised it let me upload the whole video. My aunt had a heart attack a few days ago and made the local news. She should be going home by tomorrow and is doing much better. The only reason they found is she had low potassium. Everything else was normal.

I love how ivy naturally carries herself. We tried a new bit tonight with sweet iron and she seems to like it a lot so far.

Honestly. I love how the retirement age is 65, so why is the president typically older than that?? Can we please get someone who isn't senile?? I will not be arguing about this.
I think all leaders should be around the average age of a country’s workforce

If you board your horse at a full care barn, they should be able to walk politely on a lead rope, be polite for blanket changes, stand for farrier and vet, and just have overall decent manners that are tolerable. Barn staff aren't there to train your awful horse. That's still on you.

I hide cash away in different places in my tack locker at the barn so I always have money for the farrier when he comes. $20 here or $10s sometimes so it'll add up eventually

It really really fucking sucks being in love with a truly difficult horse. I love iris to death and can't bare the thought of selling her but damn it I just want a fucking horse that's easy for once.

Iris did so good today at the clinic. Boyd couldn't stop complementing me on how much progress I've made with Iris since the clinic last year with him and said I was the most improved there and called me out during the dinner saying how much we've improved 😭

Iris was so good today!!! She was having so much fun being able to ride out in an open field over some logs and banks. She felt great. I'm so excited for the Boyd Martin clinic! Here are some videos from today

Best day ever. I got Iris to Charleston for the clinic tomorrow & went to ride her out in the back field over the few cross country jumps they have. There were armadillos everywhere! Idk why but I love them and have always wanted to see one in person! (The zoom on my phone is crazy, I was not close)

Heading to Camden soon for the hunt ball tonight. I've never been, but my niece has been more into fox hunting this last season so I guess we'll go and see what it's all about. It's roaring 20s themed which seems appropriate 😒
