Being forced to negotiate with the US at the point of a gun does not place you in “Trump’s orbit”. Also if you were a bus driver, you are a working-class President, not a “self-described” working-class president, NYT. 🤦🏼♀️

These people really do not understand the difference between dictators (including Trump) in power to enrich themselves & revolutionaries in power to improve the lives of the people. And contrary to the impression the headline tries to convey, Maduro was never seeking to “escape”.

The 1st Amendment allows you to report on the identities of military commanders, ongoing military operations & positive aspects of US adversaries--not as unfortunate consequences of free expression, but as liberties that are core to maintaining a semblance of democracy.

Why do people like Trump, Vance, Noem & Bondi repeat such brazen lies? Because they know the news media will give their statements equal, if not more than equal (they’re public officials, after all) time with the truth, & that their base will then believe what they want them to.

Some have taken the fact that the murderous ICE agent was injured in a prior incident with a car to mean he had PTSD or was extra-sensitive to being hit. I take it as proof he’s just aggressive & reckless around cars — sticking his arm through an open window, standing in front of a moving car.

WaPo whitewashes employment under Trump is just “slow”, despite this, which you learn from the article: “2025 marked the fewest jobs gained for workers since 2020 and the second worst year since the Great Recession.” That’s not “slow”. It’s glacial.
