Successfully made it to Mcmurdo. The path we take down is through Christchurch New Zealand where we spend a few days training and getting gear. Then we fly from Christchurch, generally in a c17 or lc-130 flown by the 109th national guard out of New York

Today I'm beginning the long trip to start my 13th season in Antarctica. A bit over 9 weeks on ice, working on the weather station network, working out of McMurdo and WAIS. We also finally get to install our second "tall" tower, this one in the McMurdo area
