The problem for authoritarian regimes is that their lies end up contradicting each other. Trump is caught between the NRA and his administration’s position that carrying a weapon while protesting is inciting violence. The NRA’s power is why he’s backtracked. Nothing to do with any regard for truth.

What’s been happening in #Minneapolis is the real-world equivalent of everything we’ve seen politically from Trump et al - might is right, laws don’t apply, truth is for suckers. These ICE deaths, and their subsequent whitewashing, were inevitable.

We all know not to believe anything that exits Trump’s mouth. So let’s stop analysing his words and keep looking at his behaviour - including what is clear evidence of a man who is not only governed exclusively by narcissistic urges but also increasingly consumed by dementia.

Why is no media organisation analysing Trump’s actions through the prism of narcissism/psychopathy? This is the clearest indicator of his current and future behaviour. To continue to assume everything he says and does has some rational basis is facile and irresponsible.
