This is somewhat misleading. Heggerty isn't intended to replace phonics instruction. There are multiple key components of reading, only one of which is phonemic awareness. Also need phonics, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, plus oral language and writing! www.edweek.org/teaching-lea...
