Was born, then discovered music, comedy, books, comics, television, film and thought “I love all this!” What a fabulous place to be.
I’m learning loads from Agassi’s commentary this afternoon. A great addition to the commentary team. #Wimbledon #BBC

This evening’s movie has been PlayTime (1967). My first encounter with Jacques Tati and oh my what an incredible and glorious piece of work. 10/10.

As most modern cinema leaves me cold, I thought I’d fallen out of love with film, but having a slight cold I’ve spent the weekend on the sofa watching Once Upon A Time In The West (1968), Zazie Dans Le Metro (1960), The French Connection (1970) and Diva (1981) and have had a brilliant time.

He’ll eventually bring the blame game into play. It wasn’t him, it was the others. If people had followed me to the letter etc…

What perfect albums came out when you were 16?

Well, I’m not sure if they’re perfect, but I’ve loved these albums for 40 years now and still play them. ❤️

I haven’t seen that in years. Wonderful.

I know I’m in a very small minority here, but I loved the Greyfriars Bus Station in Northampton. I spent a few months working in it, exploring its nooks and crannies, and I thought it was fab.

Pauline Boty: I Am The Sixties could well end up being my favourite TV doc of 2025.

Another European here. In the UK, the party in opposition forms a “shadow cabinet” where members of that party are given responsibility for particular topics. A bit like for every player on the offence, there’s a defensive equivalent. Ensures that wide opinions are heard. Does the US have that?

I always felt that “Elon Musk” would be a perfect name for a Bond villain.

Personal faves: From Safe As Milk - Zig Zag Wanderer, Call On Me and I’m Glad. From Clear Spot - My Head Is My Only House and Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles. And from Trout - Moonlight On Vermont

“Doubled up laughing”. Yep, in its middle period Pipkins was bloody funny. My favourite memory is when Tortoise had to go into hospital. A real hospital bed on a real hospital ward, with this tiny puppet head sticking out the top. Genius.
