I've honestly fallen in love with this coverage of Celtic. Juco is a bit of a pessimist but I can personally affirm he's a big Tim so he's forgiven. Well worth the Substack subscription
The most comprehensive post-match analysis available anywhere is (probably) provided by The Huddle Breakdown

Here is all the material in one place.

Scottish football obviously doing something right...or at least something a lot better than it used to do. We're producing players who can succeed at a high level overseas.

Good man, Baz. 💪
Hear me now - no Guardian Football Weekly podcast today or tomorrow, thank you please. I'll be joining my dear colleagues at the Guardian and Observer who are on strike for 48 hours. Follow bsky.app/profile/gonu... or visit nuj.org.uk/savetheobserver

Worked for 4 years at the Observer. Was a real honour, an ambition fulfilled. A publication well worth fighting for.
Guardian and Observer journalists have asked people not to share Guardian stories for 48 hours from midnight tonight (Tues), to respect their strike and the virtual picket line

£750 ..sounds daft to say but amid the modern insanity of "elite golf course" greens fees that's actually reasonable (certainly less than I thought it would be for what you get). The Links Trust is a good organization, IMHO.
You can play the Old Course in reverse for three days in April 2025. They brought back the tradition this year and will continue it

In a year he took six weeks off, oversaw the beginning of a ratings decline and lost a few blue chip sponsors. Makes sense.
EXCLUSIVE: PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan earned over $23 million in regular and deferred compensation in 2023, according to a copy of the golf league’s most recently-filed tax return.
PGA Tour Boss Monahan Earned $23 Million in Total 2023 Comp
The golf league's latest tax return shows that in a year marked by litigation and capitulation, there was still plenty of money for compensation.

Since No Laying Up doesn't seem to have bothered, let me post on this platform an interview they've just done with outgoing R&A CEO Martin Slumbers. It's excellent, as has been Slumbers' tenure at the governing body. What a transformation he wrought .. thank God.

This is phenomenal, although not if you're trying to write a book and need to concentrate on stuff that has nothing to do with Celtic.. 🤦😂

Golf....crazy.
Professional golf is such a fine line and good players just need a break. Elvis Smylie missed the first stage of the Euro Tour School a month ago by a shot. Missed the cut at final stage last year by a shot.
He just won the AustralianPGA at Royal Queensland and a 2 year exemption in Europe.

Elvis Smyle winning alert. Tune in. Get in early on the next Adam Scott.
🚨 BMW Australian PGA on right now 🚨

Delightful viewing

Murray as a coach? "Come on son, be harder on yourself. Waste more energy on moaning about everything...."

Loved it. 😂😂
Thoughts on that first-half?

John Huggan interviews outgoing R&A chief executive Martin Slumbers. And it is absolutely brilliant. Huggy pulls no punches and Slumbers answers everything.
Slumbers has made a great contribution to golf. And so has Huggy.
A must read.

A mean-spirited, snobby obit. Bloody Guardian. Though there is this amazing tidbit, which I didn't know.

"Prescott duly became the Labour candidate for the safe seat of Hull East. He was elected at the June 1970 general election with a 22,000 majority over the Tory candidate, Norman Lamont."
November 21, 2024 at 6:31 PM
Connecting with the voters. No, really. He was. A normal person wouldn't stand for some wanker throwing an egg at his head from 2 yards away. Neither did Prescott. That's where the connection came from.
RIP John Prescott.
What a straight jab too.

A politician who evolved, who understood that ideas without power don't change much.#RIP

How the Democratic Party in the United States could do with a figure like John Prescott, someone imbued in the politics of the movement but understands that things need to change.

So great to see Elvis Smyle at the top of the DPWT leaderboard. The guy has come on leaps and bounds since he fired that dud of a caddy who used to have, @mikeclaytongolf.bsky.social 🤣😂🤣

Great stuff from EL. can't the PGA Tour see just how toxic it has become? Maybe, like Elon, they'll wake up one day to discover the customers have gone somewhere else. If only there was somewhere else to go. Like a World Tour comprising the majors + historic national Opens + some A+ sponsors.

Top 3 live band I've ever seen. Can't wait for April 28, 2025.
Excited to announce two new shows at Glasgow Barrowland next year, alongside a trio of Irish dates (Galway, Limerick and Dublin) and new shows in Shanghai and Beijing ⚡️
