I am saddened to learn of the passing of Lowell Green. For decades, Lowell was an unmistakable voice on Ottawa’s airwaves and a true broadcasting icon. Through his long‑running talk radio work on CFRA, he shaped conversations, challenged listeners, and created a space for debate and thoughtfulness.

Happy National Flag of Canada Day!
Today, we celebrate our most recognizable and unifying symbols. On February 15, 1965, the red and white Maple Leaf flag was raised for the first time—a moment that marked a new chapter in our country’s identity. I am incredibly proud to be #Canadian.

Still thinking about The Drowning Girls—an exquisite, socks-knocking-off performance by Kanata Theatre.
The depth of talent in Ottawa is incredible. Tonight was this performance's final curtain call, so I was beyond pleased to catch it before it was gone!

Congrats to the 2025 Think Ottawa Leaders recognized for bringing major conferences, conventions and events to Ottawa, welcoming nearly 30,000 visitors and strengthening our local economy. It was an honour to celebrate them, including Orléans' own Cassandra Auguste-René.

Another heartbreaking story this morning, this time so close to home. My thoughts are with the families and community affected by the tragic loss & innocent lives taken far too soon.
So much difficult news to process today, take care of yourself. Talk to someone you trust & seek support if needed.

The tragedy unfolding in Tumbler Ridge, BC, is beyond heartbreaking. A safe place intended for learning and hope shaken by a violent act no one should ever endure. In this time of grief, Ottawa stands with Tumbler Ridge & holds them in our hearts.

Snow didn’t stop me from getting out, knocking on doors, and checking in with residents on Kamouraska Circle. From snow clearing to cheering on our Olympic athletes, thank you for sharing your thoughts and perspectives. Your voices mean so much.

Skating the @rideaucanalskate.bsky.social is my annual Winterlude tradition. Each year I aim to skate its full length at least once. I love the mix of lively chatter and tranquil stretches- a uniquely Ottawa experience that grounds me in the simple beauty of winter.

Great turnout this morning at the OPS District Model consultation at the Diane Deans Greenboro Community Centre. Residents called for stronger police presence, faster response times, and a proactive approach. The new model, expected in 2027, aims to strengthen community ties.

Sports give youth more than exercise; they build friendship and belonging. I joined Ashley Ruelland, President of GCRA, at the 49th Devils’ Winter Inferno and discussed partnership opportunities that help keep girls in sport.

I am truly saddened by the news of Catherine O’Hara’s passing.
She was, and will forever be, a Canadian icon. Thank you for the laughter, the inspiration, and the characters that will live on long after the screen fades to black. 💔

Let's celebrate the Bard, raising a cup o’ kindness, for old times’ sake, in tribute to Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, and his legacy. Thanks Scottish Society of Ottawa for inviting me to give the Toast to the Laddies last night.

Canada’s Alto high-speed rail project will begin on the OTT–MTL corridor, a major step for East Canada travel. With projected speeds >300 km/h, travel to Montréal could be less than an hour and Toronto in about two.
