Montreal police arrested a climate protester after he splashed pink paint on Pablo Picasso’s “L’Hétaire” (1901) at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. The artwork was covered with protective glass.

The police who terrorised Ali were emboldened by what is happening in the US. I have postered alone at night in multiple cities including Montreal, and I've had interactions with police while doing so. I have never been treated like Ali, almost certainly because I'm white.

A nonviolent person was tackled and arrested by multiple officers while putting up posters. Police later admitted that guns were pointed at his head during the arrest. There was no threat. No crime. Just paper and a paint brush.
