I will make a pinned post with a doc history of the way that the neoliberal ideology has been able to turn the Western nations into a hegemonic regime. With a thread with some important books that document the development.

fascinating piece on France's strategy to fix crisis of housing affordability hammering European cities.

you'll never guess, but it's the state building more (social) housing, to great outrage of institutional landlords, real estate lobbyists and FT's American readers

The best of (history) science has always been able to explain much of reality. This is akin to anti-science. As if every big attempt is always.. ideological.
Caution in handling generally accepted opinions that claim to explain whole trends of history is especially important, given the abundance of ideologies that pretend to be keys to history but are actually desperate efforts to escape responsibility.

Tony Blair Institute participated in a project to develop a postwar Gaza economy with a “Trump Riviera” and an “Elon Musk Smart Manufacturing Zone”.

Is there anything he won't do for money, or to appease Trump?

We were promised freedom, but what we got was access. And access comes with an invoice.

Rent became the price of entry, rights became products.

Housing, medicine, credit, even visibility... someone owns the toll booths that count as 'access'.

NY would not have a competitive primary without a system publicly financing candidates.

Without that system, Cuomo & his oligarchs woulda faced no strong opposition.

It's why oligarchs hate such systems & why other cities/states should adopt them.
