This piece in today’s @nytimes.com is gut-wrenching but so worthwhile. When my daughter was in treatment, her wonderful nurse care practitioner was the only one who leveled with us about how serious her cancer was. Fortunately, my daughter is alive today. But better palliative care is needed.
