I'm ten episodes into the original Space Pirate Captain Harlock from 1978. This could have been a really foundational piece of fiction for me if I had discovered it 30 years sooner.

Yesterday I read A Blackened Shield by Jay Requard while I drank my morning coffee. And that was all I read yesterday, because it was one of those heavy stories that take some emotional digestion. The good stuff.

Sitting down to read Old Moon Quarterly 8, it's as good a time as any to mention I supported this year's crowdfund entirely on the strength of Jen Donohue's "This is Not the Only Kingdom" in vol. 4. One of my favorite pieces of writing from the last year or two.
