She knew there was an egg in the stump but how to get it? She scraped at the dead wood, pulled at the stump to try and topple it and eventually claimed her prize. Such a joy to watch.

I paid a second visit to Yorkshire Photography Hides last night. Had five visits from the beautiful vixen who worked hard to get the food secreted in various places.

I went to Donna Nook on the Lincolnshire coast yesterday. It's where grey seals come ashore to give birth and mate. I'll post more in coming days.

For anyone who didn't follow me on that other site I thought I'd better say that I don't just do wildlife and lighthouses! I do all sorts. These are shots taken at daybreak on Mam Tor above Castleton in Derbyshire. If I recall correctly it was on Christmas Day.

I've somehow managed to lose my account from the other site so this is me now. It wasn't intentional but would have happened soon anyway.

A gathering of brown hares in a dew covered field. I have always thought they were magical animals and can see why they feature in ancient myths.

Red squirrels at Snaizeholme in the Yorkshire dales. To sit and watch them scurrying around and chase each other up and around the trees is such a pleasure. Sit with a few nuts in your hand and they will come and gently take them from you.

Red foxes from a hide in West Yorkshire. Such beautiful animals in great condition.

At Cape Wrath lighthouse. A spectacular place, well worth a visit. A short ferry ride takes you to The Parph which is an all forces firing range. A one hour shaky mini bus ride takes you to the top point where the lighthouse is situated.
