Okay so this is not atmospheric chemistry related BUT I finished my first 100 mile trail run this weekend! Run Rabbit Run in Steamboat Springs. And like all long running endeavors I must talk about it on all social media. It was lovely except for the cold hail!! Many aspens changing color.

I recently analyzed LMIC participants by location and year and found out that conference location REALLY matters for this--40% LMIC participation in 2014 in Natal, 57% in 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, 15% in 2022 in Manchester (COVID still a big thing for that conference, though), ~3% for Colorado in 2016.
The bids to host the iCACGP-IGAC 2028 Conference are open, due May of next year. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about submitting a bid. More information here: mailchi.mp/igacproject/...

Been up since 230 am hoping my evisa for Cote D'Ivoire comes in last minute (applied 12 days ago). I've had good luck with visas so far and have a strong passport so not complaining but much sympathy for all the scientists that make it to IGAC events despite visa hurdles!

Looking for people who want to help advance atmospheric chemistry towards a sustainable world and steer the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry Project! IGAC (like many US-based organizations dealing with climate/science) is in a time of transition, and you could help shape its future!

The 2026 budget passback plan calls for eliminating NOAA Research, the scientific backbone that keeps weather forecasts, alerts, and warnings accurate and effective. This would have disastrous consequences.

Does anyone going to EGU know what the AGU leadership dinner is about? Probably I should just reply to the email from the organizer and ask, that is the adult thing to do.
