Airship model I designed and lasercut. It's a work in progress and certainly wouldn't work in real life. The skeleton is plywood and the exterior plating is basswood strips. The sails are just cotton cloth.

A 3D printed Dune sandworm that I designed a while ago in Blender.

Dude, what gives?

My desk that I made with my dad. On one side it is hinged to the windowsill, on the other side it hangs from the bottom of my bed using paracord. We designed it to fold down against the wall, but I never do it anymore. But the hinges won't break like a stiff system would as the paracord stretches.

3D printed cover for Ikea power strip. I designed this a long time ago to avoid the stage light booth power strip getting stepped on. This was surprisingly common, and would cause all of the stage lights to shut off, for about a minute. The cover works pretty well and I still use it.

A lasercut holder I designed for my e-reader. It also works pretty well for headphones.

Laptop clamshell holder.

A laptop holder I designed and lasercut so that I could get my laptop out of the way. I made sure that the fan grilles are unobstructed. There is also a cut out on the far side for a usb mouse bluetooth receiver.

The pattern is from Pattern Monster. Shape adapted from MakerCase.

The process of hanging the monitor up with the paracord cradle. I don't have any safety mechanism in case that fails, so the monitor would just come crashing down. That would probably not be good. I also don't have a very good way to stow the HDMI yet.

The holder that my monitor hangs from my bed on. It's made of a 6mm plywood plate to interface with the VESA mount, a couple pieces of wood, some threaded rods, wingnuts and hinges. The monitor can fold up so that it's out of the way, flush with the underside of my bed.

A 3D model of a spaceship I designed. I planned to just render it painted and textured, but decided to 3D print it just to see how it would turn out. The detail is a little low, but serves it's purpose of visualizing it as something tangible.

The three desk inserts next to each other.

Playing music from the stand. Unfortunately I haven't found an easy and free way to keep my phone's screen on when certain conditions are met (e.g. jack plugged in). Think it would be cool to display whats playing. If anyone knows a way to do this on Android 14, I'm open to suggestions.

In version 3 of the volume knob holder insert, I added a stand for my phone. To connect it, you just sit it down in the slot with the audio jack in the port. It's still possible to pay out the cable.

I play music from my phone because music from my laptop stutters when it runs Blender calculations.

An insert I made for my desk, to hold the volume controller and headphone jack for my computer speakers. Like the others, it's printed out of PLA. This is version 3 (ish).

Another 3D printed insert I made for my desk. this one just holds sticky notes. I use said sticky notes for reminders of what needs doing. They usually go on the top wood piece of my monitor stand.

The pencil, eraser and cable insert that wedges in the gap.
November 15, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Insert that sits in the gap between my desk and the windowsill that it attaches to. I originally designed this to hold a power cable for my laptop on the opposite side of the desk, but I didn't know the gap size was different on that side. Now it holds a pencil, two erasers and a speaker cable.

Putting the speaker on the mount. Note that usually you have to connect the cables first, I just didn't because it'd be harder to do with one hand.
