Wild idea, but I think Safeway should hire enough checkout employees so that there isn't a 5 deep line to get in line for the 3 available checkers. The self checkout line is maybe 20 people deep.

I'm staying with my dad for the week and thus listening to 4 hours a day of fox news at full volume. I've not listened to this much uninterrupted fox news in a long time (20 years?) and its really shocking how weird it is. Every talking head guest has to praise Trump's genius/power/will first.
There is no press outlet of any size, in any medium, that would offer this kind of coverage to a Democratic president, no matter the circumstances.
There is a massive, explicit agitprop operation on the right, devoted to the power of the conservative faction, & there is no analogue on the left.

I think my business got 1-2 cold calls a week offering to help us get some ERC money. For like months. It was so clearly a dodgy tax credit. Even they people trying to get us to file for us knew it was going to end.

Finally caught up with For All Mankind. One of my favorite details is the attention paid to the evolving Apple UI, like last seasons brushed chrome and candy button, and that everything is a modernized, slimmer Newton.

I feel bad for the biggest guy in any prison. Every week a new batch of inmates shows up and at least one of them feels like he's gotta take a swing at the big guy. Big guy is just trying to serve his time, pay his debt to society, and every week he's sucker punched by some fraudulent accountant.

Slumming at the other site, MattY put up a GDP of the DR vs Haiti from 1947 to 2018 and left it to the commenters to bat about reasoning. Some settled on the correct (IMO) answers of "France is jerks" and "US policy racism" but at least 50% of responders are going HARD with the explicit racism.

With a reckless disregard for my mental wellbeing, I'm watching a delayed newsom/desantis debate and its remarkable how much heavy lifting the fox news graphics department is doing for desantis. When it's favorable for FL they'll use raw numbers (net migration) which is swamped by the 20m vs 30m pop

How shitty the web has become! I can't use the PGE website with 2 out of 3 of my browsers and the one that "works" via editing the DOM to remove the overlay. UPS package tracking just spins loading, and (not web) I'm 16 in line with peloton support to figure out why my bike won't download an update.

I am enjoying the fuck out of Blue Eyed Samurai. Only on episode 2 but it is just excellent so far.

Something I realized I love about this place is the absolute lack of "Threadreaderapp unroll" requests on any thread. It's the height of selfish laziness to broadcast to everyone your inability to read a series of short posts by begging an app to put it in a single post for you.
