Each time the state of Florida executes someone, a vigil is held at the corner of 49th St. N. and Ulmerton Road/northwest corner. Signs provided. This heavily trafficked intersection is an opportunity to remind many people that a human being is being killed in our name by the State of Florida.

Nov. 30 is the first Sunday of Advent. This is a special season of preparing ourselves to receive the gift of Jesus. Sunday morning services will focus on the magnificat, a song of joy associated with Mary, the mother of Jesus. See Luke 1: 46-55. It's no wonder he was a radicalized revolutionary!

The next Bible Study gathering Wednesday Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the church will focus on Mary, the mother of Jesus and will involve the many traditions about Mary in the Bible and beyond! The services during Advent will be themed on the Magnificat of Mary. All welcome!

In November, the LUCC Outreach focus is on donating to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. With the reduction of SNAP benefits this is especially important. Please bring donations of non-perishable food and place them in the bin in the Caring Closet in the hallway at the church. Thank you!

Congregational Meeting following worship Sunday, Nov. 30. The LUCC congregation will vote on proceeding with the solar installation plan at the church. There will be a detailed explanation of the plan and vote taken to endorse the plan. This is an exciting project for the church! Come be part of it!

This past Sunday, people from the Tampa Bay area gathered near the Pinellas County Jail for a prayer vigil lifting up the treatment of immigrants in the local community and in the country. The interfaith vigil was led by faith leaders from this region of Florida.

A Solar Task Force is at work with the goal of having plans in place for solar power at the church by the end of 2025. The intent is to include a battery backup system so that when the power is out, the church can offer electricity to the community for recharging phones and using medical devices.
