I spend most of my free time painting miniatures so expect that will be most of what I post about!
I have a blog over at lairofthelagomorph.com
I’ve written a simple skirmish game available over at https://lair-of-the-lagomorph.itch.io/masse-darmes
I've now painted my Valten, he's ready to ride forth for our Storm of Chaos game (20+ years too late)! Maybe I should do some high elves, really enjoyed the white/blue/gold scheme. #Warhammer
Now I have to paint Archaon! (No conversion this time, I have the model and it's very cool)

I've been on a bit of a Storm of Chaos kick (early 2000s #Warhammer campaign by @gavthorpe.bsky.social for you younglings), and been wanting a Valten model to battle Archaon. Decided to convert one out of the super cool Cities of Sigmar Cavalier-Marshal. Sculpting is a bit rough but not too bad.

Continuing the Empire theme with some Flagellants. Mix of the newer plastics and some of the first minis I ever bought - models from the #Mordheim Witch Hunter warband set. They've seen a lot throughout the years, hence the newer weapons used to fix breakages. #Warhammer

Some classic Halfling Archers hit the painting table yesterday, lots of character in these sculpts. Painted in the colours of the Moot of course. #Warhammer

Painted up a small warband for a skirmish game I put together as a fun exercise in trying to write my own rules for a game (lair-of-the-lagomorph.itch.io/masse-darmes if you want to check it out). I see the knights as a bodyguard for the excellent Seer model by @badsquiddogames.bsky.social.

Another entry for #FinishedFriday with yet another base of 3rd Century Romans for use with #Midgard. Figures are yet again a mix of A&A, Victrix, WA and Footsore with some conversions and hand painted shields. Backdrop by John Hodgson

I've been enjoying #Midgard tremendously so I thought I'd write up a review/summary of my thoughts on the game over at the blog. I mostly use the blog for project photos, but it's nice to stretch the writing muscles from time to time. lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/10/09/a... #spreadthelard
A Review of Midgard Heroic Battles
I noticed last post that I was starting to mention aspects of Midgard Heroic Battles that I’d never really explained and felt that a review post for the game might be in order. Clearly if you’ve se…

Been thoroughly enjoying reading #SecretPassages 2. The whole concept just cool and a good read. Nice trip down memory lane and beyond (not quite old enough to have experienced all of it!). Heartily recommended picking both #1 and #2, and look forward to what’s coming next @jdhoare.bsky.social

Painted this cool Chaos sorcerer from GD 2010 after a day of paging through the old Realm of Chaos books and feeling the need to paint something with a tentacle on it. #Warhammer

Excellent time playing #Midgard last night with @djchamb.online and other friends. Made good use of the bases I made last week and my Warhammer collection. Skaven and Undead vs Dwarves and Bretonnians, with some Treemen spicing up the action! #spreadthelard #wargaming

Been enjoying #Midgard by @mogsymakes.bsky.social a lot! Enough so that I've made a whole bunch of bases to allow me to field my #Warhammer armies in the game. I went over the process in a blog post, showing off the different sizes I made lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/09/27/m...
Making Bases for Midgard Heroic Battles
I’ve been really enjoying Midgard Heroic Battles as you might have been able to tell from my last few posts. While I’ve been working on my Epic scale Punic War armies specifically for t…

Some test models for my Punic Wars armies, models are @warlordgames.com Hail Caesar Punic Wars, based for #Midgard on some bases I modelled and printed for this purpose. I wasn't sure how I'd go painting this scale but it's a fun relaxed kind of painting, enjoyed it!

Made up a bunch of pine forests over the last few days, initially to be used for some WW2 gaming but will come in handy for any cold weather gaming!

Postman dropped off and exciting package today! Thanks a lot @badsquiddogames.bsky.social for sending the extra banner! Jeanne is going to lead my hundred year war French in #Midgard, and the seer will spice up some #SilverBayonet games. Some cracking models over at Bad Squiddo check them out!.

Well the game was a ton of fun. Gildor challenged Shagrat to single combat at the onset of battle and got absolutely pasted. The Mordor cavalry then did a nice job of taking on the elves and eagles on the right with Shagrat who was amassing reputation by wildly charging into anything that got close.

Gearing up for a first game of #Midgard (by @mogsymakes.bsky.social!) tonight.
200points a side to make things easier as we learn, with a very canon Cirith Ungol vs Wood Elves battle (must be in one of the appendices surely!).

Anyone have some good mini painting/wargaming/rpg blog recommendations? I do enjoy reading longer form stuff on the topic and I’m trying to build a bit of a collection of feeds. Can be your blog!

Dipped back into some WW2 hobby as I’ve been excited to try out Chain of Command. Painted some models to get a couple of my armies up to Platoon strength from my Bolt Action lists.

Been enjoying my time with The Silver Bayonet, so here's the next installment in my playthrough of the solo campaign from the main book. Will my plucky British unit make it through their night camping in the woods undisturbed? Seems unlikely... lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/07/01/t...

Painted up some deserty/egypty ruins today, will be gracing the table for my games of Silver Bayonet, Warhammer, Bolt Action and whatever else makes sense!

Painted up a couple of cool vampires from Warhammer Underworlds, put them on squares for use in Old World, and used them in a Silver Bayonet game (battle report lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/06/07/t...). Felt very efficient!

Been meaning to get into Silver Bayonet for a while, but this week after a few too many @peachytips.bsky.social videos I started kitbashing a unit, and a few days later was ready to test out the solo rules. I chucked together a small battle report on the blog lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/06/01/t...

Pump Wagons for my Orcs and Goblins army. These are the awesome Blood Bowl models, they fit really nicely on the smaller profile base in the rules (25x75) #warhammer

Over the last few years my gaming group and I have been getting into Richard Garfield’s 90’s follow up efforts to Magic the Gathering: Vampire The eternal Struggle and Netrunner. The games are great and I’ve written a longish post comparing them to Magic. lairofthelagomorph.com/2025/04/25/d...
