Can someone explain to me why congressional members get numerous chances to vote if they’re absent or silent when their name is called? Why bother to call roll if it doesn’t matter whether or not they’re present when their name is called?

It’s such a struggle to stay sane when day after day is another 5-alarm fire happening in Trump world. I try to avoid news for my own sanity but I have such a strong need to know what’s going on. And there’s 4 more years, at least, of this chaos 😫

I wish the state of our politics would stop taking up so much space in my brain. I can’t stop thinking about what will become of us as a country if these unqualified Trump cabinet picks get approved. I’m losing sleep over this 😩😩
