Did you know that if the price of an uber/lyft doubles, the payment to the driver doesn’t increase nearly as much?

Uber/lyft are just squeezing you, and using the “there is high demand so we need to increase prices to get more drivers” so that you are willing to pay.

I’m in a pretty active group chat with 13 guys who’ve been friends for 15 years, we all travel to get together twice a a year, we know each other’s spouses and kids etc., and I am 100 percent sure that if someone got an Android and turned it into green text bubbles, they’d be voted out the next day

Workers in low-to-middle income households are much more likely to be solo self-employed than their high-income counterparts.

But solo self-employment is more precarious: workers in this category are more likely to be underemployed and typically have lower earnings than employees.
