I also prompted Midjourney: "AI does not exist." It produced these four images. Embodied AI wants to blend into the periodic table? It reflects religious iconography; delivers an "aeon flux" aesthetic; and finally, an embodied emo AI in thinker pose. It can't render its nonexistence. #AIproblems

Prompted OpenArt (formerly DALL-E): "AI does not exist," and it produced these three images. Visually clocked its own tea; also a #PIL-like post-punk poster; and a "default user" amidst analog media. #LOLZ #OpenArt #AI

Excellent take on the denouement of AI psychosis and LLM chatbot hallucinations in this @bostonreview.bsky.social piece:

"In this bright future, we will achieve synergy with the machines. We will divide our labor. One party will hallucinate. The other will act on the delusions."

"Since the spring, dozens of potential cases have emerged of people suffering from delusional psychosis after engaging in lengthy AI conversations with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and other chatbots. Several people have died by suicide and there has been at least one murder." #AI #AiPsychosis
AI Chatbots Linked to Psychosis, Say Doctors
People and their AI companions are entering into shared delusions, doctors say, and chatbots can be “complicit.”

I have been saying for years that so-called AI and AGI are excellent case studies of technologies that overpromise and under-deliver.

“There is a deep belief that technology is better than human beings."

How AGI became the most consequential conspiracy theory of our time

TL;DR: AGI is still science fiction.

"Part of the issue is that despite all the money, all the talk, nobody knows how to build it. More than that: Most people don’t even agree on what AGI really is—which helps explain how people can get away with telling us it can both save the world and end it.“

Health insurance premiums keep going up (a lot!) yet quality of care goes down. Capitalism and healthcare are incompatible. That's why what America actually has is sick care. Sick care is a capitalist enterprise. #facts #QuoteMe
