Jacky Dragon - this sun-loving lizard appears along south-eastern Australia’s edges of woodland and logs. With its bright yellow mouth and mini dragon-style crest, it’s a true Aussie native in stealth mode.

Beaches on Bruny Island are more than places for fun in the sun, they’re vital nesting grounds for vulnerable shorebirds like hooded plovers and pied oystercatchers. But free-roaming dogs pose a serious threat.

Being born in New Zealand was where Dr Lyn Goldsworthy’s love of the Natural world came from. Especially in the 1950s, you walked everywhere, and recreation was walking and being out in the hills and wild oceans and seas.
