📣 Publication alert!
"Writing Conceptual Histories" ed. by Jani Marjanen and Pasi Ihalainen offers a great sample of theories, methods, and case studies. It also demonstrates the many ways to write conceptual histories and encourages scholars to experiment with new approaches! bit.ly/wch_25

An excerpt from the book "The Name of Discord" has been published online. You can read about how the mosaic of civil wars ultimately coalesced into one continuous #RussianCivilWar. I co-wrote this section of the book with Dmitry Ivanov.

I was today years old when I learned that in German there’s an expression "08/15" (null-acht-fünfzehn) meaning "ordinary, mediocre, nothing special"

And it comes from the name of a standard German #WWI machine gun. Alright, makes sense

Hogging the blanckets of #RussianRevolution

Milyukov pulls toward “strengthening power” with whip and bayonet, Kerensky toward “strengthening freedom and revolution” outside, Lenin toward “deepening the revolution” everywhere. And the sweet German just offers his hand and heart.

Where did you find this conspiracy?
