I don’t know who edited this photo, but it’s very good.

For context, this is Yablunska Street in Bucha 🇺🇦, where dozens of civilians were killed in March 2022 by Russian troops.

Russia launched a website to "select" Ukrainian children, according to Save Ukraine.

Mykola Kuleba, the founder of Save Ukraine, reported that an online catalog has appeared in Russia where people can "choose" a Ukrainian child from the occupied territories.

All day, people have been bringing flowers to the building in Kyiv shattered by a Russian missile. 31 lives ended here.

Over the past few days, I’ve been translating their obituaries from Ukrainian media into English. Not just because they deserve to be remembered - though they do.

Ukraine is squeezed between the civilized world and the madness of russia. This is not a war in the traditional sense; it is a systematic assault and the murder of innocent Ukrainians, carried out at night.

The city is under constant russian shelling, roads are destroyed by craters from airstrikes, and residential buildings are ablaze. russian drones continuously circle overhead, deliberately hunting Ukrainian transport and people, regardless of whether they are military or civilian.

This Ukrainian volunteer expressed everything we, as volunteers and Ukrainians in general, feel. Yes, every day we feel like we can’t go on anymore, like we simply can’t, but we have no choice. So we keep going and force ourselves to do what we need to do.

And before that, there was famously no russian bombings of Ukraine, right? Wrong. You morally rotten piece of shit they bomb us every freaking day!

“Ukrainian Diary”

It’s my own story.
A story of war, love, pain, hope -
And life in Ukraine as it is.

Imagine living in a war zone: day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out, year in, year out. Relentless horrors exhaust and numb them, leaving them too drained to cry or grieve. They face constant fear and violence with no escape, no rest, and no peace. They indeed deserve better.
I'm just so tired of reading about fragments of bodies retrieved from the rubble, about dead children. Tired of staying up all night, hoping that the family under the rubble will survive somehow instead of becoming mere bodies in statistics. I'm tired of grieving and crying. We deserve better.

I agree with @kajakallas that the EU should become a beacon of freedom. So when do we start?
Here I offer six ways to actually light the beacon and step into the role history has chosen for us. Our response to the current uncertainty can be firm and long term. A thread.🧵1/17

Systematically tearing children from their families, stripping them of their identity, erasing their cultural heritage, and annihilating their connection to their past is not just an atrocity, it is a calculated act of genocide and a crime against humanity that demands global condemnation and action
⚖️ ICC issued arrest warrants for Putin & Lvova-Belova on March 17, 2023, for deporting Ukrainian kids.

Justice & their return are key to peace. #BringKidsBack

Complicated, and the discussion would be more credible if not led by commercial rivals of Lockheed-Martin.
