2025 kicks off a two-speed AI/Human economy in digital media:

AI will handle more selling, ops, analytics, and media buying—leading to resource optimization and layoffs. Those who integrate AI into daily tasks will outshine others, until business governance arrives.

Is what you're doing agentic, a fancy loop based workflow or are you just chatting with your GPT Project? Here's a mythbuster: fractionl.ai/p/ai-agent-m...

New GPT is proactive; is that a step towards it replacing us? Read on for my take.

Proactivity in AI agents: does that mean we're all out of jobs?
Agentic AI can now take action instead of just replying, and automate multiple steps of a complex task. Does that ring the death knell for human jobs?

3rd party data, the roadkill sausages of the media world. It's time to think differently and not have AI be the new sausage farm for media

The future of data in media publishing: fewer processed data-sausages, and more home grown produce.
A new slew of ingredients are on their way for content owners to make their next monetization dishes from; PubTech, agents and the most important - 1st party data. Let's cook.

I had to tell my AI agent off yesterday.

I wanted to share my experiences building with AI agents this week; sometimes they just need a plain old fashioned telling off which I found hilarious!

Yesterday I had to have a stern word with my AI agent.
Building with AI agents sounds sexy, until you realise you’ve basically hired a hyperactive intern with infinite knowledge but no experience.

Lots of ad people are saying first party data is dead. This is dangerous to assume - here's why

The Tech Oligopoly Is Over. We have a generational chance to not let AI become the next one in media.

Google search results now triple serve brand ads - so you can appear thrice on one page. Feels like a cash grab, and a move to where search engines become more MFA + act as keyword farms for AI which paves the way for AI-answers to be branded at a premium price.

Why do so many people think that AI will replace having your own good data? I get data businesses and brokers haven't made things easy, but that's like saying Guac will replace avos, or bread will replace wheat. Try harder to build unique data.

Hot take: most businesses with significant revenue/users in any category will attempt to stand up an O&O ad network in the next two years. Some will succeed, others will bunch together, the rest will give up. But it's coming.

A casino is getting into the ad-network business as 'commerce media' continues to surge
The network would allow advertisers to target Mohegan customers on slot machines, kiosks, and other screens across its resorts and apps.

With all this chatter about AI agents, here's a hark back to the OG. It looks like you're pondering how old this technology really is, would you like to know?

In 2025, the better AI performs, the fewer websites I’ll visit. It already makes up 90%+ of what used to be fragmented Google searches. This could be a huge problem for the internet advertising economy!

Google Search is in trouble. It feels more like the bargain bin of finding stuff than ever. ChatGPT and Claude feel more like a continuous thoughtful conversation. Even Google's AI answers is starting to feel like a cupboard full of old crap you'd find upstairs at your nan's.

My 2025 resolution: learn how to build AI agents. It's not that hard to get going! I'm using RelevanceAI, which comes loaded with template agents that you can clone, "talk" to and train. Replit is another fave, for "talking" a site or app in to existence.
