"We've spent our whole lives almost dying. You think we'd be used to it by now, wouldn't you?" Jimin holds his gaze for a moment before he turns back to the lake with a drawn out sigh. "Do you ever think it was a waste of time?" "What was?" "Surviving." There's a bird somewhere in the trees singing, and the water rushes through the streams a few metres away. But the silence is so loud. Surviving is all Jeongguk's ever known. He never really got a chance to live, and he was fighting by his skin and teeth not to die. He still is now. "I don't know how to do anything else," he replies, solemnly. He knows it's not much of a life, but it's the only one he's got. "Gukie," Jimin says Jeongguk's name as though he's in pain, his face screwed up slightly like he is. "That makes me so sad."

A Star-Spun Melody As the days pass, the barrage of questions Yoongi has grows. They flood his brain most nights after Jungkook easily falls asleep. Mostly, he wonders about where Jungkook came from. Yoongi thinks he might be an alien, it would explain how he fell from the sky. But sometimes, when Jungkook's asleep, all tangled up in Yoongi, he glows slightly. It's subtle, not bright enough to light the room, but enough that Yoongi can make out the features on Jungkook's face clearer than he should be able to, bright enough that the skin of Jungkook's hand glimmers against the black bed sheet. I just got home from the most incredible writing trip to edinburgh! It is one of the most beautiful cities i have ever visited, and the amount of coffee shops and bookshops made me never want to come home 🥺 I wrote 9k words in three days, so i was definitely inspired hehe

But the most surprising, most unpredictable thing that Jungkook has been is in love. When he crash landed into Yoongi’s garden months ago, he never would have expected this. He was heart-broken. Laying in the dirt frightened and alone, wondering if he would ever find a home again. That person seems like a stranger to Jungkook now. Since climbing out of his ditch, guided by Yoongi’s hand and his promise of warmth, Jungkook has bloomed in unimaginable ways. Now, he feels safe enough to consider the possibility of a future. To consider that maybe Yoongi’s heart has bloomed in the same way.

i almost missed it but happy #wipwednesday !! here’s what i’ve been working on for the november writing challenge 🤭
Jimin wipes at his face and runs a hand through his hair. He takes a few deep breaths as though he's trying to will away his drunken state, and then he says, "You remember playing cards with Jin?" Taehyung frowns at the casual name Jimin uses, but nods. "Do you remember the bets you made?" Taehyung hums, thinking back. "I remember I was good at it, that I kept winning. I asked for his ship at one point and he just laughed at me. "Anything else?" Jimin pries, voice growing nervous. "We drank rum...?" Taehyung tries. Jimin shakes his head, eyes sad as he tells Taehyung, "You agreed to marry him. Well, proposed it, really." "Why would I do that?" Taehyung laughs, the concept so preposterous. "I would never marry a pirate." Jimin stays quiet, that same apologetic look on his face as Taehyung lets the words sink in. "I would never marry a pirate," he repeats but the words aren't quite as strong, weakened by his memories slotting back into place. "Oh dear. I married a pirate, didn't I?" Jimin bites on his bottom lip to hold back his laughter as he nods. "He's a handsome one, at least." Taehyung smacks Jimin on the arm, pushing him away. "Why would you let me do that?" "Let you?" Jimin's eyes widen. "You're a prince, Taehyung, I don't let you do anything. Besides, I wasn't even there when you made the bet, so you can hardly blame me for your drunken mistakes. At least mine are only sex."
