I have four of my mini orchids spiking right now. I think one is light purple with yellow centre, one is yellow with pink centre, but I don't know what the other two will be.
I know I have an all white one I hope is in the mix, that would be the first rebloom since I bought it last year.

Confession: I like to stalk real estate listings and watch the denial flake off like lead paint as the listing price is reduced again and again...
It's even starting to happen in major cities like new york and toronto.
Not so much LA or san francisco yet, but my watch continues 🦉

I really appreciate how young people are talking to each other. I overhear quite a bit on the bus and at the university.

I have an all white mini that should be due for blooming soon, but hasn't shown signs yet. In addition, there are 5 or 6 mystery mini phals I bought for $5 after they had finished blooming, so I have no idea what they look like. That's always exciting!

My full size yellow phal finished blooming today, deflating gracefully overnight. I snipped the spike and then examined my dormant orchids for signs of spikes - found one!
I think this is a 4-year old mini with yellow blooms and pink centres. It's been a very reliable variety.

This mini is nearly finished after sequentially blooming since May. She's new to my collection so I'll have to label her and time the bloom cycle.

I think I have enough phals in my collection that I have year-round blooms. This beauty I got for $16 at a grocery store and it blooms *constantly*. It stopped blooming after 3 years only bc it needed a repot. Threw a spike immediately after.

Hmmm. I have never crocheted mittens before. I prefer the stretchier results from knitting, but I have carpal tunnel from knitting 😅 so maybe this pattern with ~noro~
