My grey #showmeyourknits is also also a current WIP - the beginnings of a simple cable blanket for my son in Katia Gentile Merino yarn on 8mm needles.
Pattern is 'Comfort' by Kim Hargreaves from an old Rowan magazine (no.34).

I have a garter stitch project ready to start, so a deconstructed contribution for #showmeyourknits this week! Some luscious La Bien Aimée cashmerino arrived yesterday to make this shawlette, with Laine X Novita 4 ply for the tiny tassels.

All finished! One felted project bag whipped up this week and now filled with 15 balls of Katia Gentile Merino, Italian wool from Puglia, ready to knit a blanket. Knitted on 8mm needles, it was a v satisfying speedy knit.

After too much news scrolling, I've prescribed myself some sanity today by knitting round and round and round in chunky, super soft, pure wool! Bliss. 🧶💕
It's going to be a project bag, which I'll felt. Details in alt text.

Oh dear! Here are the beginnings of a blanket - Rowan Midwinter by Martin Storey. I started it in the Autumn of '24... and stopped a few weeks later! Perhaps I could complete 12 or 16 squares and make a cushion?

My Varde shawl is *almost* finished - it's off the needles and just needs blocking. It measures about 82"/ 210 cm long. First time knitting with Gilliatt and it is officially gorgeous! Pattern from 52 Weeks of Scarves by Laine Publishing.

Lovikka mittens washed & felted a little. Just wondering whether or not to add some embroidery to the cuffs to finish them off. Including a photo of pink scrap yarn temporarily knitted in, ready to be removed and stitches picked up for the thumb. Knitting is magic ✨🧶

Update on my Varde scarf, or rather shawl - it's going to be big! 28 more rows to go... It's a gift for an old school friend who I'll be seeing in Feb. Lovely meditative knit with all the repeats.

Me: Percy, where's my merino, stranded colourwork cowl that I've just carefully blocked and laid out on the ironing board?

#Showmeyourknits has prompted me to dig out this little cardi I made for my daughter when she was about 3. It was well worn, going from hip length to bolero style in a couple of years!
I can't put my hands on the pattern - it was by Hayfields - I'll post it when I find it.

The beginnings of a mitten for #wipwednesday, knit with 2 strands of Plötulopi - a pure, unspun roving Icelandic wool in Ash heather colour.
The yarn is v fragile as a single strand but knits well double.

I've cracked open my 52 Weeks of Scarves book and started pattern no. 50 'Varde'. Yarn is Gilliatt by De Rerum Natura in Forêt colourway, which comes from Arles merino sheep raised in Provence and is gorgeously plump and squidgy.
