Angie Stone, a hip-hop pioneer in the late 1970s with the Sequence, one of the first all-female rap groups, who later switched gears as a solo R&B star with hits like “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” died on Saturday. She was 63.

After having success as a member of the Sequence, an early female rap group, she re-emerged in the 1990s as a practitioner of sultry, laid-back R&B.

Watching Marian Edgar Budde making the Trump clan feel uncomfortable when she spoke elegantly & calmly about the fear felt by marginalised communities was inspiring but also worrisome. We can do more individual good than collective harm if we just see take care of our neighbours.

BBC radio’s People Fixing the World” meet May who invented ‘communication jumpers’ - very simple way to help people with autism communicate. May sold over 10k world wide.
Why is this remarkable? May is autistic & 22 proves anyone can do amazing things & that’s why I advocate inclusive education

Went into teaching because I was passionate about doing better for children and young people pastorally as well academically. Cheese aside, it felt like a calling and I’m glad I did it.
I’m reading up on teacher recruitment, but I don’t see clear patterns about what first brought people into teaching.

For me, it felt familiar - I thought I’d like it (especially reading) & I wasn’t sure about what career I wanted. I gave it a go to see.

How about other teachers, past & present?

This! 👇🏼I had a nosey at @raesnape.bsky.social and followed so many from Twitter whose posts I hadn’t seen in ages!
It’s fantastic & a little surreal going to my newsfeed on @bsky.app and seeing posts from all the people I’ve followed for years on Twitter/X which have oddly been missing from my newsfeed on X for the past 18 months. This is going to be an amazing platform👏
