The worst part about being a Christian was the idea that I had to accept bad things as inherently good. Sometimes things are just bad. The mental gymnastics required to rationalize bad things as God’s mysterious ways was exhausting

Went on a tangent today and taught my 9th graders about the injustices of tuberculosis because “tubercular gray” is a color in Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak. Thanks @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social for your insight that I passed down to my kiddos
