And even so, why do we have to try to be their QA department? This is a high pressure device. If they couldn't be bothered to finish the metal parts, how can we be sure this thing won't be compromised enough to explode when we use it? Just really poorly handled (it's going back).

At first they offered to replace the parts that were affected (bottom two thirds) but sent just the boiler. Good start, right? No, now for the center piece they want her to try to wash it and are saying it'll be hard to replace since it has other parts attached. This isn't a $50 thing...

Had a ridiculous experience with #9Barista. I encouraged my wife to treat herself and get the new mk II. It took a few weeks but she finally got it and all the metal parts were splotched like they'd been sitting in hard water. Tried to get them to replace but it's been a chore.
