Rules only work when punishment feels reasonable. When it doesn’t—when force replaces fairness—legitimacy collapses fast. After Renée Good, the authoritarian playbook is showing… and 2026 is the pressure point. open.substack.com/pub/professo...
The Speeding Ticket Test: How Trump’s America Is Learning to Stop Believing in the Rules
From Renée Good to “do not obey in advance,” the authoritarian playbook is visible—and 2026 is when we decide whether it works.

No Kings, No Fear: the question isn’t just “is it safe to protest?”—it’s whether intimidation gets to decide who shows up. The 3.5% rule says we don’t all have to march, but there has to be enough of us… and Election Day is the biggest protest. substack.com/home/post/p-...
No Kings, No Fear: The Math of Protest in Trump’s America
The Trump administration wants you to believe that dissent is dangerous in the wake of Renée Good's murder. But silence isn't a safety plan—it’s a surrender packaged as self-care.

Renée Good was a mother and poet. MAGA and the media machine tried to slap “terrorist” on her anyway—because if they control the label, they control whether you’re allowed to mourn.

Scott Jennings isn’t “a conservative voice.” He’s a bad-faith oxygen tank, and CNN keeps treating credibility cosplay like journalism. Demand standards—or change the channel. www.lincolnsquare.media/p/scott-jenn...
Scott Jennings: CNN Has to Be Trolling at this Point
Renee Good is not a talking point. But for Scott Jennings and CNN, a fatal shooting in Minneapolis is just another opportunity to 'both sides' the indefensible.

Winning isn’t a vibe—it’s the first policy. Dems can’t “commission” their way out of a captured judiciary. Court expansion has to be said out loud in 2028, defended with facts, and fought for like power matters.

George Clooney isn’t a hero—he’s a megaphone. And if he’s finally using it to call out media pre-compliance and corporate cowardice, fine: truce. But Democrats also need to stop outsourcing strategy to vibes and podcast groupthink.

Merry Christmas 🎄 JD Vance says Americans don’t have to “apologize for being white anymore.” Cool story—except whiteness isn’t an ethnicity, it’s a rank, and the whole thing is classic DARVO grievance theater. I brought receipts (and seasoning).

Trump calling his MRI “preventative” set off every alarm in my body.

For people like me who’ve had MRIs for 20 years, there’s nothing routine about them — they tell you if your life is about to change.

I wrote about the politics, psychology, and lived experience behind the lie:
There’s No Such Thing as a Preventative MRI — but There’s Definitely Such a Thing as Political Bullshit
Since 2005, I’ve had at least one MRI every single year of my adult life. I know MRIs the way other people know Spotify playlists or the McDonald’s menu.
