Amateur woodworker/maker. Not particularly good at either. I like nerdy stuff, writing, amateur theatre, bird watching, and kindness. Married for over 30 years to my favorite person in the world. He/Him
Here is my latest board. I made it for a charity auction. It's edge grain and made of walnut, Brazillian cherry, and maple. #woodworking #cuttingboards

At 58, I had never traveled out of North America until this summer. My wife and I visited friends in the UK. We were in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness, London and a day trip to Paris. I loved it all but these are the things that choked me up upon seeing them with my own eyes. #travel #UK #Paris

My second attempt at a chessboard and pieces. The board squares are 2x2 (ish). The black pieces are walnut and the white ones are black Limba. The border is also black limba. The pieces were made from the off cuts. I am mostly happy with how it turned out...mostly. #woodworking #Chess #MakeStuff

Our camper has very little counter space so I used some leftover Black Limba and Nogal from a project to make this board/tray. The handles serve to keep it from falling in the sink when it is in counter space mode.

I live in Greater NOLA. Since Epiphany we have been celebrating like this. It has been steadily building and on Tuesday it will reach a crescendo while much of the rest of the world celebrates with...pancakes. #muses #MardiGras #NOLA

A couple of months ago my daughter and her friend found her wandering the streets abandoned and scared. She seems to be doing better.

In the late 80' I saw Peter, Paul and Mary live at the Saenger in NOLA. I saw them again in the late 90's that time I had a backstage pass and got to meet them. When I told them how much their music meant to me, Peter gave me a hug. My kids have gotten tired of hearing about it over the years. #PPM

I once spent 14 hours working craft service for a movie that was shot in my hometown. Colin Farrell's stock just went way up with me.
Colin Farrell thanking Carolina in craft services and her thoughtfulness in his #GoldenGlobes acceptance speech is your wholesome moment of the evening.

A little tip from someone born and raised here in Southeast Louisiana.

NO KING CAKE BEFORE TWELFTH NIGHT.
NO "XMAS" KING CAKE. NO "NEW YEAR" KING CAKE.
NO KING CAKE. PERIOD.

Partaking in King Cake outside its appointed time is how you get bad things in 2025.

Thank you. 😘

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Nikki Giovanni. Her poetry meant a lot to me through the years this one especially resonates with me as I think about the things we do and accept out of fear.

This is one of the first things I made. At the time I was still buying hardwood at the big boxes so it is oak and poplar. I made the pieces on my table saw. #woodworking #Chess

@thomaslennon.bsky.social I am so glad you are on BlueSky! You were very kind to me when I sent you pictures of my dogs Ronan and Siobhan named after your characters. Here is an updated pic for you. They still love you! Ronan is the brindle one.

I have an embarassing number of cats. The orange one is Groovy. The others are Alphonsus and Algernon. They are foster fails because Algernon had some serious health problems. Now they have been completely corrupted by the little orange bastard who taught them to cat.

This was one of the first boards I made. It is Padauk, Sepele, and Maple. I think my shop is still tinged a light pink from the Padauk. #woodworking #cuttingboards
