Wondering off the path, up the ridge. Beckoned by gleeful calls at the mossy walls to the south, my eye was dawn north. The golden rays cascaded through the fall trees of the Rivervalley, onto a gurgling drain jutting out from the swale and tagged with graffiti.

The scene: It's the 1950s. A dancer has been murdered and a mystery is unfolding. Two men sit on a bench in a dimly lit Moroccan nightclub.
