NEW: Rad Power Bikes has told employees it will go out of business in January without new funding.

The company said in a staff email that it had a "very promising" option to stay alive, but whatever that was, it fell apart.

Also this all now confirms what I've heard from insiders since @kirstenkorosec.bsky.social and I broke this news in June, which is that Rivian had already moved away from the Jony Ive-designed version of the bike before Also was spun out.

Was at the event and I’d say folks were pretty excited about the modularity (switching from regular bike seat to cargo for example) and the consumer quad
The Rivian spinoff Also claims the TM-B is "more than a bike," though most of the features that back that are under the hood, including the ability to brick it if's identified as stolen.

Also worth noting that it does not come standard with Autopilot. When you compare models you'll see it lacks Autosteer, which is one of the ADAS features that when combined with "traffic aware cruise control" makes Autopilot.

Partiful fixed the bug at TechCrunch's request. The bug meant anyone using Partiful could've seen exactly where a person's profile photo was taken.
