Last February was the best birthday I’ve had so far. It was the day I adopted Timber, it was the best snow of the year, and it was the first time I ever snowboarded in powder. I also got to share incredible food and beer at Drunken Kitchen / Grid City with a big group of amazing people. It set the tone for the year ahead—a year of travel, new experiences, and meeting more incredible people than I ever had in a single year before. This is a photo from the first of two spontaneous road trips I took to Portland for a local event there called Slabtown Scamper, which takes place every couple of months. I met a lot of cute beans on this trip, and I even got to crash on two of these friends' couch for the second trip. For the first trip, I also drove up to Seattle for a couple of days to hang out with some friends up there, new friends, one who was just moving up there from here in Salt Lake, and an old friend whose apartment I crashed at. I love the PNW, and I hope I get to do more couch surfing road trips for 2026. Where do I even start here... I didn't have high expectations for AWU, but it ended up being the most important con experience I've had to this day. I only went because I was invited to stay at a friend's Airbnb, which they were hosting. It ended up being about 22 people staying there. It was chaos, but a lot of fun. This is also where I got to meet Kip, my favorite person in the whole world. I'm even blushing just saying that out loud. We became close right away, and the stars aligned in a way that made the last day and a half of the con the most memorable and most cherished moment in my life. They live so far away, but we make an effort to see each other as much as possible, and every time we do, it's amazing. It also gives me an excuse to travel more. Its not like I was traveling a lot already :P I can't wait to share more adventures with them down the road. Soon after AWU, I was able to hop on a reservation for AFC with a group of Arizona locals, including Kip, who got me in, who are all really amazing people and super fun to room with. It was my first time at AFC, and it was a remarkable one. I ended up spending way too much money at dealers den, haha.
