Frey: And don't just say, this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school. They were in a church.

Gruesome but Honorable Work – AHA
Grieving family members were instrumental in the creation of a federal program to rebury and repatriate the remains of fallen soldiers after World War II.

Heeyooo. I'm offering free pet portraits to any federal employees who recently lost their jobs, as well as veterans who no longer have access to services they previously relied on. >>Will you share this post so it reaches someone who could use a happy piece of art featuring their pet? #petsofbluesky

And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes.

We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

If Trumpty-Dumpty is working with the Russians to screw up America, he's doing a great job. Eggs, $11 a dozen. Health & Human Services down the dumper, ditto VA. If you call Social Security, they tell you to call back later. Guys 'n gals, this is more fucked up than Peter O'Toole on his birthday.

Absolutely outrageous treatment of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

The Damage to our Shared History Has Been Done and It Will Take Years to Repair
We are witnessing a wholesale erasure of history across federal agencies and programs that have worked tirelessly over the years to interpret our shared past in an inclusive and balanced manner.

I suppose this is why so many authors are incensed about AI “writing” — it’s clearly just something tech dullards created to compensate for their own weaknesses and now they’re projecting that on all of us.

Look, I’m sorry you suck at writing. But don’t make the rest of us suffer your failures.
Writing is thinking.

It’s not a part of the process that can be skipped; it’s the entire point.
This is what's so baffling about so many suggestions for AI in the humanities classroom: they mistake the product for the point. Writing outlines and essays is important not because you need to make outlines and essays but because that's how you learn to think with/through complex ideas.

How to become a writer checklist: writing a book is the worst idea you've had yet! You're not going to make any money! It's going to be nearly impossible to get people to care! Nobody has heard of you! Then go for it.
