Pope Leo today on doctrine vs indoctrination:

Doctrine “appears as the product of research, and hence of hypotheses, discussions, progress and setbacks … a common, collective and even multidisciplinary pursuit of truth.”

"Everything that is tough and brittle shatters; everything that is cynical rots. The only way to endure is to forgive, over and over, to give back that openness and possibility for new beginning which is the very essence of love itself." Cynthia Bourgeault

I know we need to share the awful things happening in the world — and it’s important to bear witness to them — but on the other side of things, at Mass this morning the Parish priest was so elated about Pope Leo XIV that he hired an ice cream van so he could pay for ice creams for all of our kids ❤️

Keep sharing. There are many angles in this one due to all the neighbors, mostly women, who stepped out to support this family. A few Bible verses come to mind for their efforts, in fact.
Massachusetts neighbors tried to stop ICE from ripping away a mother who was with two children, including a newborn baby.

The agents had no warrant.

Those who want “illegals” to uphold the law should start by upholding it themselves.

This is vile, cruel, and unforgivable. Period.

ICONIC: Yosemite National Park workers just hung an upside-down American flag—THOUSANDS of feet up on El Capitan. That’s not decoration. That’s a distress signal. They’re telling us the country is in danger. Are you paying attention?

There’s a kind of reduction of “ressourcement” to “ad fontes” and then “ad fontes” to “niche things I like and will foist upon the whole church.”
