It is important to remember that the National Guard amd Marines that were sent to LA are not the ones employing tear gas, less lethal projectiles, and riot gear. That is various agencies of local PD. The military personnel are, for the moment, standing around doing absolutely nothing.

It’s not about saving money, or reducing debt, or eliminating waste, etc. It never was. It’s about creating shortages, hardships, and struggle. It’s about establishing a survival and subsistence mindset.

After all this, we should create a team of researchers whose sole task is to purge his identity from absolutely everything. I don’t mean erase the events, that would be sacrilege. I mean any instance of his name is replaced with “4547,” any he/him is replaced with the gender neutral they/them, etc.

Ok, so what we need now is for some enterprising soul to set up a daily delivery of tacos to the White House. Nothing sinister, just tacos, addressed to him, his administration, whatever as long as it has his name somewhere. Every day. Until he leaves.

OK, so the whole Trump Derangement Syndrome thing sounds ridiculous, because it is. That being said, it’s also insidious and terrifying. If they can get this absurdity labeled as a legitimate mental illness, we are one giant leap closer to Game Over.

Thinking about it, if Jesus were to come back today, I think the thing most likely to make him start flipping tables would be the people who call themselves christians.

However, the thing that would put the biggest smile on his face would absolutely be power tools.

Here’s the thing about “He can’t do that, it violates the Constitution.” If his people follow the orders anyway, yeah, he can do that, Constitution be damned.

Philosophical question for debate not offense: did Jesus know that he would wake up after 36 hours? If so, can you say he died for you, or is it more that he endured extreme torture from which he knew he would soon recover? Still commendable, but does it have the same impact?

And once in a great while, someone will light a lantern—or even two—that will shine forth for democratic principles that are under siege, and set the world ablaze.

Tonight I had the extraordinary privilege of speaking at the anniversary of the lighting of the lanterns in Boston’s Old North Church, which happened 250 years ago tonight.

Holy s***, I’m reading HCR’s speech for the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s Ride and I can’t believe I’m just now realizing that Americans drink coffee instead of tea because we are unconsciously continuing a centuries old boycott…

New terrifying thought: what if nuclear conflict is his end goal? The man is an unhealthy senior citizen and he knows that. Whatever power he snatches he won’t be able to hold onto it for very long. He can’t take it with him, so could he be planning on a literal scorched earth exit strategy..?

Someone want to explain to me how a person who is not an official employee of anything governmental is supposed to be investigating a national security breach of such epic proportions?

So the reasonable expectation is that everyone who participated in that group chat is now going to resign, right? And then the tangerine toddler is going to have to find a whole new group of soulless sycophants with which to surround himself?

Or is that expecting too much..?

Ok, I’m just trying to understand. Someone please explain to me exactly why ten dems allowed cloture and the CR to pass. I had heard that, once the government is shut down, it would be much simpler for the administration to tear everything down. Is that a thing, or did they just cut and run?

What I don’t understand is why we are still trying to play by the rules. The administration clearly isn’t. When the other kid starts stealing your pieces off the board, you don’t shake your finger and shout “you can’t do that!”
