Thankfully, his family didn't make a big deal about it (except for the stepmonster but she's evil anyway)

He needed days and buckets of blood to recover. Losing several fingers, toes and lots of soft tissue (nose, an ear, lips, tongue).

Khal got shot in his back with a crossbow bolt which pierced his lung, causing it to collapse. They had to hold him down as they healed him because he woke up and panicked.
Shortly after he fell into sepsis, because he just wouldn’t admit to himself he needed rest and help.
