"But what happens to you when you make moral decisions about the life or death of those made in the image of God? That cannot be hidden, at least not permanently, not to the God who judges the living and the dead."

I hope to read 100 books this year. I’ve failed to reach my reading goals in past years because I’ve relied too heavily on school breaks and holidays to blitz through my book stacks; my reading during some other weeks has been far too sparse (especially the non-school books I’m most eager to enjoy)

I found @drmoore.bsky.social Russell Moore's "30 Things I’ve Learned in 30 Years of Ministry" very insightful and helpful.

"Republicans have strained to accuse Zelensky of being disrespectful or at the very least undiplomatic in arguing with Trump and Vance—surely the stupidest, most pathetic rationalization for a sea change in American foreign policy in U.S. history."

"You can fake your way to vice but never to virtue."
“A sincere faith, a good conscience: These things are not good for clout in a time of extremism inflation,” writes @drmoore.bsky.social.

“But ask yourself: Is clout what you really want?”

“The joy—the stab of inconsolable longing—that animated his poetry and prose was on display in how he died, in those weeks of quiet rest, as he endured his physical maladies with patience and good humor, in full faith that this earthly realm is just a prelude…
C. S. Lewis died 61 years ago today.

Lewis fully aware of his failing health, didn’t see his demise in tragic terms. His last months provide a model of Christian contentment in anticipation of eternal happiness.
