Sat having dinner on a restaurant patio on Sunset Strip in LA last night. Loud sharp crack pierced the evening. Waiter said 'gun'. There was a pause but everyone carried on. Police soon on the scene nearby. Tried looking up news to find out more. Not a single report. Just everyday in America 🤦

Every December I look ahead to the new year and plot a route for conferences I want to attend. British Carto Society is a staple, plus the biannual EuroCarto. But... They're ON THE SAME DATE 🤦 Is it really so hard to avoid each other? Scotland (heads) or Czech Republic (tails)?
