Having recently returned to my #librarian roots, after a decade away, I am curious about #librarysky views on #AI and libraries.

It seems that librarians are more conservative than I would expect, to the point of banning AI. Am I misreading the field? Or is this an anomaly?

It’s the third day of my new job and it’s been going really well. The only challenge is working on a windows machine for all those hours. I can administer windows, but having to work on it constantly is a little draining as I learned the shortcuts.

Back in the day (2007-2012), librarian twitter was such a lifesaver for both work and networking. And so considering a return to social here as I re-enter my beloved field of librarianship.

This week I return to libraries as the Systems Librarian at University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

A big change on several levels: a decade as a Library Director, then 5-years as a Dean, and now a new country!

Back in the States (from 2-weeks in Iceland) less than 12-hours and I already feel the intensity of American culture. It’s quite overwhelming with sound, visuals, and conversations. It really makes me think about where I’d like to live.
