On the 27th of June 1970 at City Hall, Truro, Cornwall a band called Queen played their first gig under that name. They were billed as Smile but had changed their name prior to the gig as Roger Taylors diary states. I wonder what become of them?

Ken Oliver scored his 50th Reds goal on this day in 1962 in a 4-0 win over Bristol Rovers at Oakwell. Whilst it was not his most memorable goal [pic], it made him the fastest player to reach the milestone, beating previous record-holder George Lillycrop (92) by one appearance.

I remember that game. It was a thrill to see some great players in the Forest side as a Barnsley fan. Even better we won.
Forest hadn't played us since 1957 by that fixture in 1993!

When I signed for Forest ( in the Championship, after Clough left), I had a tough start to the season as did the team.
The low point, at Barnsley was "what a waste of money"..
