I occasionally feed the crows in my neighborhood, especially when it's a bit colder or wet outside. A few weeks ago during a rainstorm I saw they were looking for food and were disheveled and wet. I gave them a bit extra.

Im so happy I made it to the @atwoodatelier for one of the costume nights and I got to paint Katie (@katielearnstuffandthings) dressed up as a creepy doll. I really enjoyed trying to capture the creepy and expressive lighting and costume!

Cardinals are so striking, their bright red color contrasting strongly against green leaves. It’s no wonder they were my grandmother's favorite bird, and I think of her every time I see one.

I had the wonderful opportunity to paint Joy at @atwoodatelier on Monday. It was fun to try things I had learned from the art retreat with a live model. I also packed up with some new ideas to try next time. So over all a successful night ☺️

Dame Jane Goodall recently passed. A pioneer in primate research and an inspiration to many women in the sciences. She passed doing what she loved and believed in and I hope I captured a small bit of that in this painting.
